I have not travel blogged for the last 6 weeks given the busy schedule. I thought I have booked my hotel nicely with everything confirmed but this morning, I received an email telling me that they have cancelled my booking. This is rather unfair as I booked in early February and it took them more than 6 weeks to reply me.

As the hotel I have chosen who shall not be named until after the trip, is quite a steal. It is a brand new 5 star hotel set in a very nice location but the problem is no one has heard of it and hence business is still rather slow, so they are offering a pretty good rate for it. In fact one of my friends who had just flown into bangkok and based on my recommendation took up the offer have been raving about it. In his own words, “5 star hotel at 4 star price - excellent services all the way with great food”. The fact that he recommend another 3 groups of people goes to show his level of confidence in that particular hotel.

So he told me that the hotel can be quite desperate and to call and ask them to give me back the rooms at the agreed price as I can see that the new internet price has risen a bit. I do not want to sleep on the street, so I called IDD and got to talk to their customers representative. On their end, they could not understand why the booking was cancelled. So they decided to reinstate my booking and I got a confirmation via email that it has all been booked. Crikey! And a free upgrade to boot. This couldn’t get any better.

So off I go when the time comes. Will release the name of the hotel after this trip. Stay tune.
