Air Asia has grown by leaps and bounds in the last few years. It is already the largest low cost airlines in Asia. It seems that the only way is up for them. However, you will still hear a lot of horror stories of how “delay” some of its flight can be. Personally I have experienced two flights which had been delayed to 6 hours. There were many which were retimed to 2 hours delay. All in all, I feel the delay are something I can live with given the heavy discount given compared with the pre-Air Asia era.
However, a friend’s friend told my friend of a new type of horror story which happened a while ago. Apparently a group of people who were travelling together decided to hire one of their buddies to reserve seats for them by using the priority passenger system. What they did was quite amazing if you ask me. But even more amazing are the respond of the air stewardess who refused to hear it out from our unhappy passengers.
Their modus operandi is simple. One guy gets up to the plane and began putting newspaper onto seats saying he has reserved it for his large group of friends travelling together. Other passengers complained and the crew did not bother with the complaint. Whilst this priority passenger friends couldn’t careless if they boarded first. So overall, the plane had quite a number of unhappy passengers. A bad PR management by Air Asia crews? I presumed so. If anything, they should maintain a first come first serve policy and tell the priority passenger to remove his “reservation” and give it to passengers that are boarding.
Frankly, I cannot believe that there are such arrogant and selfish passenger. If this is a friend, I will give him or her my piece of mind.

what a coincidence - the airline magazine i read on my own AirAsia flight carried a letter with the very same complaint! the hostess in question apologised for her inexperience; she said she was a newbie and should have been firmer with the obnoxious passengers. i don’t know if the claim was true but thought you might like to know there was a response, tho it may have been just a token one.
thanks the lead up. So the story is now confirmed true since it had been acknowledged by the related parties.
