One of Johor Bahru’s most interesting food attraction to visitors from across the causeway is their seafood. Seafood can be found in two different type of settings. One seafood restaurants and another seafood villages.
There are a few Singaporean centric seafood restaurants in Johor Bahru (if any readers wants the address, leave me a comment and I will get back to you as I am lazy to look for the info for this post. my apologies) such as New Lucky Restaurant in Taman Sri Tebrau. Another popular hang out would be Kong Inn in Taman Sentosa where they serve one of the best non-conventional food fare. The local franchise King Crab seems to be doing a roaring trade recently since its opening at Taman Desa Tebrau.
As for seafood villages, there are 7 different villages which can be quite popular with Singaporean visitors as well as local. In no order of preferences, they are:
1) Kukup seafood village
2) Gelang Patah seafood
3) Perling/Danga Orang Asli (native) seafood village
4) Permas Jaya Seafood
5) Teluk Jawa Seafood (one of the biggest with more than 5 different restaurants)
6) Kong Kong seafood village
7) Sedili seafood (good for lobster)
